Quicksave Radio

I pride myself in my ability to stay up to date with gaming industry news. I consume a huge number of Podcasts weekly, including 'Kinda Funny Gamescast', 'The Computer Game Show', 'The Eurogamer Podcast', 'Giant Bombcast' and many more.

Inspired by the podcast medium, myself and my friend, Owen Connolly, host a regular gaming podcast titled 'Quicksave Radio' in which we discuss the week's news and what we've been playing.

Bonus Stage 1: Shadow of the Colossus

October 5th, 2019

In this spin-off bonus show, I walk Owen through my journal experience of the Shadow of the Colossus Remake, which was one hell of an experience to take on almost 15 years after the original game's release.

Stage 11: Controlling the message

September 20th, 2019

Yet another launcher to install, EA have definitively buried Anthem(?), the ESA want to turn E3 into a dictatorship, and Discord take a load off of their subscription service. Sounds dull, but stick with it because we've also been playing a helluva lot of Borderlands 3 and I've checked out the unbelievable wholesome mental health game, Kind Words!

Stage 10: Trapped in a David Cage of emotion

August 21st, 2019

This week sees us discuss Rocket League lootboxes, Ninja moving to Mixer, Bioware departures, Gamescom 2019, Gamer Entitlement, the role-queue Overwatch update and the shortcomings of Detroit: Become Human.

Stage 9: Fine as cream gravy

August 3rd, 2019

In a surprise turn of events, we actually have ORIGINAL CONTENT this week as Josh has attended QuakeCon for some hands-on with DOOM Eternal! Also discussed is the new changes to Overwatch Competitive, the Fortnite World Cup, and why Wolfenstein Youngblood isn't quite what we wanted it to be...

Stage 8: Breath of the Wild isn't perfect, don't @ me

July 25th, 2019

In a strange amalgamation of two recordings, this week sees us both discuss the Nintendo Switch Lite, our new love of Warframe, a dabbing penguin, and why we don't think Breath of the Wild is as perfect as people make it out to be. Truly a rollercoaster of a podcast...

Stage 7: aprEs-3 - Microsoft

June 16th, 2019

Stage 7 sees us discuss everything that Microsoft had to show at their E3 press conference. Join us in the subsequent podcasts as we discuss the rest of the conferences!

Stage 6: PrE-3

June 8th, 2019

This week, we're discussing the leak-week before E3, including Watch_Dogs Legion, Google Stadia Pricing and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare!

Stage 5: Thanos of Gaming

April 8th, 2019

This week, we're discussing ALDI's misplaced marketing campaign, the future of Google Stadia game streaming, and Kotaku's expose of Bioware and Anthem's development.

Stage 4: We just "can't"

March 10, 2019

Back after last week's absence, we report on the horrific Activision Blizzard layoffs, speculate about the future of Zelda, gush about Apex Legends for half an hour, and question why trains aren't more widely featured in modern video games.

Stage 3: Year of the Train

February 17, 2019

In this episode, we gush about Apex Legends, discuss the role of trains in modern video games, and the absurdity of a Tetris Battle Royale.

Stage 2: Beta Banter

February 2, 2019

This week, we discuss the closing of the Wii Shop Channel and video game preservation, the possibility of new Nintendo Switch hardware, and the love/hate relationship with Counter-Strike Global Offensive.

Stage 1: Karen from Basingstoke

January 26, 2019

Welcome to the pilot episode of Quicksave Radio!

Evolved from a radio show on the University of Salford's Student Radio Station, Quicksave Radio is a gaming podcast that outlines and discusses news topics and recent game releases on a weekly basis.
